Pippin's Plugins has been providing premium members with advanced plugin tutorials and code reviews for six years. Now founder Pippin Williamson has ended his membership concept and made his WordPress plugin tutorials available to everyone. Williamson cites a lack of time to create new content on a regular basis as the reason for this decision.

Another security hole after plugin change of ownership
The plugin "Captcha", which had 300.000 active installations, was removed from the official WordPress plugin directory because of a backdoor. The colleagues from Wordfence got to the bottom of the matter further, as there had been a change of ownership. The trail of the new owner leads, as already with the spam through the display widgets plugin, among others to Mason Soiza. In light of this, the colleagues from Wordfence advise uninstalling plugin immediately.
The most aggressive brute force attack on WordPress
The security provider Wordfence reports a sudden record high of brute force attacks on WordPress sites. Up to 14.1 million attacks on partly 190,000 WP pages per hour could be measured. In their blog post the colleagues from Wordfence explain what the possible cause is and how you can protect yourself from brute force attacks.
