Update: In the meantime, it has been announced in the official WordPress blog that WordPress 5.0 will not be released on November 27, so that the release candidate can be tested extensively. There is no alternative date for the final release yet.

4 ways how to avoid Gutenberg editor

If all goes according to plan, the big update to WordPress 5.0 is coming out on November 27, making Gutenberg the default editor. If your WordPresssite (or your client's) is not yet compatible with Gutenberg or you currently reject the new WP editor for other reasons, this is not yet a reason to despair. We'll show you how to work around the Gutenberg editor.

WordPress 5.0 at Raidboxes
It seems that WordPress 5.0 will be postponed again. Nevertheless, we would like to inform you now how we deal with the update: Although we usually roll out our auto-updates after about 2 weeks for major version jumps, we will suspend them for an indefinite time for WordPress 5.0. If you want, you can of course update manually before. More info about this can be found here.

WCEU tickets more expensive from 2019
If you want to be at WordCamp Europe in Berlin from 20 to 22 June 2019, it's best to secure your ticket this year. Because: as of January 1, 2019, the ticket price will increase slightly. The reason for this is that the WP Community Team has raised the maximum price for a WordCamp ticket to 25 euros per day.

You wonder why Google's optimization tool PageSpeed Insights (PSI) suddenly spits out different values for your site ? Don't worry, this is not due to your website itself, but to an update of the tool. To make the results of the different Google performance tools comparable, PSI now uses Lighthouse for the analysis.

Vulnerability in plugin "AMP for WP"
If you use the
plugin AMP for WP, you should make sure that it is running at least on version 0.9.97.20. A security vulnerability has ensured that attackers can place malicious code under certain conditions. According to Heise Online, pages where visitors can register are particularly at risk.
