This WordPress plugin can also be used to create contact forms, quizzes and all kinds of calculators. The basic version is sufficient for most applications. Moreover, you can display the results of the survey to the users of your website immediately and in various different ways, plan surveys in advance (start time and end time), restrict the survey to certain user groups (e.g. only registered users) and prevent abuse by blocking participants via cookie or IP address.
What's a little annoying with YOP Poll, however, is that you can only create one question per survey. Nevertheless, the plugin is actively used by more than 20,000 sites and gets 4.5 out of five possible stars from 400 ratings.
Perfect Survey

The survey plugin Perfect Survey also specializes solely in surveys. It has an intuitive drag-and-drop builder that makes it easy to place the individual elements in the right place. In addition, the plugin is already translated into 12 languages. It can therefore be used in English-speaking countries as well as in Europe and even Asia. Anyone who runs an international website will appreciate this multilingualism.
All data can be exported via a CSV file and then further processed into graphs and diagrams using Excel or Numbers. The plugin supports single and multi-choice surveys, ratings and a selection of images. Perfect Survey has no premium version and no paid add-ons. Everything is free of charge and can be used without incurring any additional charges.
This is probably one reason why the plugin gets top marks with five out of five stars. Although this plugin is only actively used on 2,000 websites and there are only 25 reviews, these results suggest it's certainly worth testing.

The name of Poll, Survey & Quiz also reveals its functions. This plugin is aimed at anyone wanting create surveys, polls or quizzes on their website. There are ready-made templates for all three formats, you just need to adapt and publish them with your content.
It's also possible to immediately display or export the results of the surveys in real time with this plugin. Furthermore, you can use the interaction of the users to generate leads via integrated call-to-action buttons or newsletter integrations. If you want to create a so-called "viral quiz", you can also activate sharing via social media.
The basic version of Poll, Survey & Quiz is free of charge. If you want more, you'll need to spend between 19 and 199 US dollars. It's a tad annoying that the developers base the price heavily on the views of the surveys: you'll have to use the paid version if your surveys are loaded more than 250 times per month. Depending on where the polls are integrated, even small blogs are likely to reach this limit quickly. If you place your survey in the sidebar, you only need 9 clicks per day to exceed this threshold.

Conclusion: Surveys with WordPress are a breeze
From the selections of plugins in this guide – and the more than 500 other surveys tools in the WordPress plugin directory – you can see that creating surveys, polls and quizzes is a piece of cake. The only thing that's a bit more complicated is the legal framework.
It goes without saying that you need to pay attention to GDPR and data protection. This applies especially to the storage of cookies, IP addresses and when asking for personal data within your surveys. An example of personal data collection would be if you want to connect your surveys with your CRM or newsletter program and gather leads. To avoid warnings here, you need to seek legal advice that analyzes your plugin and your planned surveys in detail.
As data is always transferred in these cases, problems or unanswered questions can arise if you don't create surveys directly on your site and instead integrate them via external providers, e.g. via iFrame. As a rule, the collection and storage of this information must be stated in your privacy policy and you should have the exact wording drawn up by professionally experienced persons.
It makes sense to find out in advance which plugin functions are free of charge. This way you don't have to wait until you've set up the site before you realize whether the functions you want might cost you something. Once you've cleared up these points, surveys and polls are a great way to get to know your readers better. If you know your readers' opinion about certain topics or your service, you can also make them happier. Or develop new content ideas from their feedback.
