Corporate social responsibility is very important to us

We wish to take responsibility for the environmental and social impacts of our actions. On this page, we explain the measures we are taking to this end.

A sense of responsibility enshrined in the articles of association

Our commitment to sustainable entrepreneurship is deeply rooted in our DNA and our articles of association:

2.2 The company also aims, through its business activities, to have a significant positive impact on the public good and the environment.

10.5 c) In the course of their duties as directors, the directors shall be mindful of the impact of their actions on customers, who benefit from the company’s efforts to make a significant positive contribution to the common good and the environment.

B Corp and GWÖ certification

B Corp certified

We have been certified as a B Corp since 2023 and therefore meet the requirements of the B Impact Assessment (score 83.1, valid from 2023 to 2026). Among other things, the certification assesses our impact on employees, society, the environment and leadership, and makes our performance measurable.

Certified under the Gemeinwohl Ökonomie (GWÖ)

In 2021, we were certified as serving the common good in accordance with the criteria of the Gemeinwohl Ökonomie (GWÖ) (score 256, valid for the period 2021–2024). The GWÖ report sets out clearly how we assess and further develop the social, environmental and economic aspects of our activities.

Measures relating to environmental responsibility

Our CO₂ emissions

We take into account direct emissions from our own operations (Scope 1), indirect emissions from purchased energy (Scope 2) and other indirect emissions along our value chain (Scope 3).

In 2025, we generated a total of 49.6 tonnes of CO₂e. This means that, for the first time, our emissions consisted solely of Scope 3 emissions. Our largest sources of emissions include the electricity and gas consumption of our staff working from home, the procurement of hardware – including the electricity required for its manufacture – and business travel. The results show us where the greatest opportunities for further emissions reductions lie.

Support for climate protection projects

Removing plastic bottles from the sea

Since 2021, we have also been supporting projects through the Greenspark initiative. Greenspark supports initiatives in the field of renewable energy and other environmental projects. We are specifically supporting the following measure and have already offset 2,222 tonnes of CO₂e* as a result:

  • 455,840 plastic bottles removed from the sea*

*up to and including 11 September 2026

Afforestation and the retirement of EU emission allowances

We have been supporting the organisation ForTomorrow with donations since 2026. ForTomorrow uses the funds either to retire unused EU emission allowances or to plant trees in Germany. Through the following measures, we have already offset 98.9 t CO₂e*:

  • 112 trees planted*
  • 76.3 retired EU emission allowances*

*up to and including 11 September 2026

E-mobility

We promote climate-friendly mobility and create incentives to switch to sustainable modes of transport.

  • We have four electric charging points available at our site for this purpose.
  • In addition, we support staff by providing a subsidy towards the Deutschlandticket and the JobRad scheme, thereby making it easier for them to switch to public transport and cycling.*

*Employees are free to use this amount as they see fit within their benefits budget of €150 per month.

Energy

We are committed to ensuring that our energy supply is as climate-friendly as possible.

  • Our office in Münster is powered entirely by green electricity. The electricity is supplied by naturstrom AG in Düsseldorf, which provides only green electricity from Germany.
  • Our data centre is Equinix in Düsseldorf. It is powered entirely by green electricity and has a PUE of 1.37 (PUE = Power Usage Effectiveness).
  • Furthermore, our data centre holds the relevant certifications. These include, amongst others: energy efficiency (ISO 15001), energy management (ISO 14001), SOC 1 Type II, SOC 2 Type II, the EU Code of Conduct, and the Climate Neutral Data Centre Pact.

Initiatives in the area of social responsibility

Our working conditions

  • Flexible working hours: Core working hours are between 10.00 and 15.00; outside these hours, our team enjoys flexibility in organising their working hours.
  • Flexible working location (remote first): Our staff choose where they work. Anyone who wishes to do so is, of course, welcome to work at our office in Münster.
  • Fair and transparent remuneration: It is important to us that equal or equivalent work is remunerated fairly and on an equal footing, regardless of gender or other personal characteristics. Through transparent salaries and a structured remuneration process, we have established clear guidelines from the very beginning.
  • Training budget: Every member of staff is entitled to €1,200 per year for further training.
  • Positive Business & Leadership: Since 2024, our managers and team members have been receiving training based on the PERMA model (on a voluntary basis). As a result, we foster a positive corporate culture.
  • 360-degree feedback culture: In spring 2023, we introduced a 360-degree feedback culture. This enables all team members to gain a more multifaceted perspective on their performance from various angles.

Health programme

We aim to promote the mental and physical wellbeing of our team. To this end, we are implementing the following measures. The subsidies can be drawn from the monthly benefits budget of €150:

  • Subsidies for the JobRad scheme
  • Subsidy for membership of the Urban Sports Club or Hansefit
  • Subsidies for spectacles (required by law)
  • Free ergonomic workplace assessment
  • In-house contact person for mental health
  • Access to the OpenUp mental health platform
  • Sabbatical option: the possibility of taking a career break of at least 2 months; to this end, up to 5 days’ holiday can be saved in the sabbatical account each year, and regular annual leave can also be taken
