2013
Dark times for German-speaking WordPress fans. Specialised WordPress hosting is only available from the USA. If you want domestic servers, you’ll spend several hours a month installing, developing and maintaining WordPress.
2014
Our founders Torben and Johannes can’t let go of their idea, so they quickly say “Goodbye agency routine, hello German WordPress hosting – faster, safer, easier!”. No sooner said than done: the first Raidboxes prototype is launched in 2014.
2016
The breakthrough: After two years of intensive development, Raidboxes receives its first seed investment from Europe’s largest early-stage investor, High-Tech-Gründerfonds. The team grows to a total of 15 people.
2017
With the funding, a great team and the WP community behind it, Raidboxes rises to become the No. 1 WordPress hosting expert in the German-speaking world. Today, Raidboxes is also the first choice for many customers from Europe.
2019
The team grows to 25 people, Raidboxes is now well-known and popular among WordPress professionals with well over 10,000 customers. The aim is to expand its current market leadership as a managed WordPress hoster.
2021
Growth to 45 people – on site in Münster or 100% remote. Our new office is ready and our corporate identity has been refreshed. We continue to pursue our goal of being agencies’ first choice for managed WordPress hosting!
2022
Growth to 50 team members, over 16,500 customers and more than 35,000 websites hosted by us. Another milestone: Raidboxes joins forces with team.blue in order to expand further.
2024
Further growth to 60 team members and over 17,000 customers. Another exciting milestone: launch of our new infrastructure Raidboxes 2.0. for more performance, security and user-friendliness.
