How it all began
The Raidboxes story
- 2013: Dark times for German-speaking WordPress fans. Specialized WordPress hosting was only available from the U.S.
- 2014: Our founders couldn’t let go of their idea, and so the first Raidboxes hosting prototype was launched: faster, more secure, and simpler.
- 2016: After two years of intensive development, Raidboxes receives its first seed investment from the High-Tech-Gründerfonds.
- 2017: Raidboxes becomes the No. 1 WordPress hosting expert in the German-speaking world.
- 2019: The team grows to 25 people; Raidboxes is now popular among professionals, with well over 10,000 customers.
- 2021: We now have a team of 45 people – working from our new office in Münster or 100% remotely.
- 2022: We grow to 50 team members. In addition, over 16,500 customers and more than 35,000 websites are hosted with us. Another milestone: Raidboxes merges with team.blue.
- 2024: We now have 60 team members and over 17,000 customers. Another exciting milestone: the launch of our new infrastructure, Raidboxes 2.0.
- 2025: After 10 wonderful years, Johannes & Torben hand over the management of Raidboxes to Christian Klapka (News Video in German).
Sustainability
Measures to reduce our environmental impact
With our WordPress hosting, we are committed to concrete measures to reduce our environmental footprint. For every new website booked, we support the planting of a tree through Eden: People+Planet. Additionally, we support organizations such as Atmosfair and Greenspark. Our data centers and office spaces are powered by renewable energy sources.
